Since 2011 Ernsten co-curates the Atelier aan de Middendijk artist-in-residency in Usquert. This residency, situated in a Dutch polder landscape in the Groningen province has so far welcomed designers, artists and architects to work on projects directly related to the farm house and the surrounding landscape.
